About the role

Vanderbilt University Medical Center is hiring a Registered Nurse for the VCH Emergency Room - Main. The role involves planning, organizing, and administering patient care within the nurse’s training and expertise, in collaboration with other professional disciplines.

This full-time position is 36 hours per week, with a midshift from 3p to 3a. The Vanderbilt Clarksville Hospital ER treats between 170 and 210 patients per day. It is stroke and chest pain certified and is not a trauma center. The ER has 44 beds. Nurse orientation typically lasts 6–8 weeks, depending on previous RN experience.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate in establishing the plan of care, coordinate and implement care delivery, and anticipate patient care needs across the continuum.
• Analyze comprehensive information pertinent to patient care and management to determine nursing diagnoses.
• Continually utilize the nursing process.
• Collaborate with other professional disciplines to support effective and efficient patient care delivery and desired patient outcomes, in accordance with hospital objectives and policies and the Nurse Practice Act of the State of Tennessee.
