Position Details:
- Title: Registered Nurse - NICU
- Location: Seattle, WA 98122
- Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Pay: $2500 per week
- Start Date: 02/09/2026
Position Description:
Providence seeks experienced NICU Registered Nurses for a Level III-IV NICU unit in Seattle. Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years NICU experience and hold a valid Washington State nursing license.
Travel nurses typically do not admit babies as the unit has a dedicated Admit Nurse. Floating is rare but may occur to Pediatrics or SCN units, caring only for infants or newborns. Nurses should be open to floating to different Providence campuses.
Clinical Skills & Experience Required:
- Care for infants 23-24 weeks gestation
- Experience with CPAP/BiPAP, High Frequency Ventilators, Oscillators, and other ventilators
- Blood and blood product administration
- Cardioversion and defibrillation
- Use of cooling/warming blankets
- Feeding tubes, PICC and central lines management
- Syringe pump operation
- Participation in high-risk deliveries and neonatal surgeries
Licenses & Certifications Required:
- Washington State Registered Nurse License (Required)
- NICU Level III-IV experience
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Note: Previous Providence permanent employees must have been separated from the system for at least 3 months to qualify for travel positions. Active compact licenses are honored at Swedish facilities.
