Job description
Provicence is hiring an experienced Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel assignment in its Level III or IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in Seattle, Washington.
Position details
- Location: Seattle, WA 98122; travelers must be open to floating to other campuses
- Schedule: Nights, three 12-hour shifts per week (7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m.)
- Assignment: 13 weeks
- Pay: $2,500 per week
- Start date: February 9, 2026
NICU role and clinical environment
Care for neonatal patients in a Level III or IV NICU that serves infants as young as 23–24 weeks gestation. The facility has 77 NICU beds and an average census of approximately 50. Responsibilities may include attending high-risk deliveries and caring for patients undergoing neonatal surgery.
Clinical experience and equipment include CPAP and BiPAP, high-frequency ventilation, oscillators and ventilators; blood and blood product administration; cardioversion and defibrillation; cooling and warming blankets; feeding tubes; PICC and central lines; and syringe pumps. ECMO experience is not required, and the unit does not provide ECMO care.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of nursing experience, including NICU experience
- NICU Level III–IV experience
- Current Washington State nursing license; active compact licenses are honored at Swedish facilities
- Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Willingness to float to other campuses when needed
Floating and schedule notes
Floating is rare but may include Issaquah or Edmonds Special Care Nursery, Pediatrics, or the newborn nursery. If assigned to Pediatrics, care is limited to infants. Travelers generally do not admit babies because a dedicated admit nurse performs that role. Block scheduling is available, including three or more consecutive shifts.
Former permanent employees of any Providence-affiliated facility must have been separated from the health system for at least 3 months to qualify for a travel position.
