Pediatric Pre-Op Registered Nurse (RN) – Boston, MA

Nexa Staffing Solutions is hiring a part-time Pediatric Pre-Op Registered Nurse (RN) in Boston, Massachusetts. This role provides safe, compassionate pre-operative nursing care to pediatric patients and their families as they prepare for surgery.

Compensation and Schedule

• Pay: $50 per hour
• Opportunities: Per diem and bundle options available
• Work arrangement: On-site in Boston, MA

Responsibilities

• Complete pre-operative assessments and monitor pediatric patients.
• Verify consents, NPO status, procedure details, and required documentation.
• Initiate IV access and administer medications as ordered.
• Provide age-appropriate education and support to patients and families.
• Complete surgical safety checklists and confirm patients are ready for the OR.
• Coordinate care with surgical, anesthesia, and nursing teams.
• Administer and document medications and treatments according to facility policy.
• Recognize changes in patient condition and communicate concerns promptly.
• Maintain accurate patient records and care plans while promoting a safe, patient-centered environment.

Qualifications

• BSN from an accredited nursing program.
• Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• At least one year of RN work experience.
• Current BLS/CPR certification.
• Pediatric or pre-operative nursing experience preferred.
• Strong clinical judgment, critical-thinking, and communication skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced surgical environment.
• Ability to meet facility background screening, health screening, and onboarding requirements. Additional vaccination or testing requirements may apply under facility policy.
