About the role
Turnupbc is seeking an experienced Researcher for a premium music-led unscripted interview series filming in Los Angeles this November. Dates are early–mid November 2026, with exact dates to be confirmed. The initial duration is approximately 2 days, with potential additional days subject to production requirements. The rate is $350/day. Some advance research may be completed remotely.
Responsibilities
- Deep-research major recording artists, their careers, catalogues, defining moments and cultural impact.
- Uncover interesting, lesser-known stories beyond standard promotional interviews.
- Research artist credits, collaborations, music rights and key career milestones.
- Source relevant archive, interviews, imagery, records and memorabilia.
- Prepare clear artist research briefs, timelines, interview notes and potential story angles.
- Fact-check information and support the Lead Producer with editorial preparation.
- Identify relevant artist-specific visual elements and storytelling opportunities for the art department.
Requirements
- Strong research skills, attention to detail and an interest in music, culture and entertainment are essential.
- Strong music and entertainment knowledge.
- Previous experience in music documentaries, unscripted television, talent research or premium digital content is a plus.
- LA-based applicants are preferred.
