Job description
About the role
Innovations High School seeks a Security Officer to support the safety and security of CIRCLE Foundation facilities, students, clients, staff and visitors.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety and security of CIRCLE Foundation facilities, students, clients, staff and visitors.
- Conduct search and seizure activities according to CIRCLE Foundation policies and procedures.
- Use crisis prevention and de-escalation strategies consistent with trauma-informed and restorative practices.
- Support disciplinary processes and participate in hearings when requested and appropriate.
- Serve on the Student Intervention Plan (SIP) Team as assigned.
- Monitor security cameras following privacy and data-use guidelines.
- Contribute to staff and teacher meetings to support school safety planning.
- Complete timely, accurate incident reports.
- Supervise non-instructional periods, including lunchroom duty.
- Attend required staff trainings and meetings.
- Perform assigned security-post duties as directed by the Assistant Principal and/or Administration.
Requirements
- Proven security or law enforcement experience.
- First aid and CPR certification preferred.
- Strong surveillance skills and familiarity with CCTV systems.
- Excellent conflict management abilities.
- School safety protocol knowledge preferred.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Good communication skills.
- Educational setting experience is a plus.
