Job description
I TECH US is looking for a skilled Senior Data Engineer to join our team in Toronto, Ontario. This contract role offers an exciting opportunity to work within the financial services industry, developing innovative data solutions that drive key business decisions and growth. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL pipelines to ingest and process data from multiple sources. Build and optimize data workflows using Apache Airflow to ensure high reliability and performance. Collaborate closely with data scientists and analysts to translate complex data requirements into technical implementations. Implement and improve data architecture and warehousing solutions, ensuring data quality and integrity. Monitor data pipelines and troubleshoot any issues to guarantee seamless data availability for stakeholders. Document technical processes and best practices to support team knowledge sharing. Stay updated on industry trends and recommend new tools and technologies to enhance data engineering capabilities. Required and Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. At least 5 years of professional experience in data engineering or a similar role. Expertise with AWS cloud services including S3, Redshift, and Glue. Strong proficiency in SQL for data manipulation and analysis. Experience working with financial services data and understanding of relevant regulations. Hands-on experience creating and managing data pipelines using Apache Airflow. This position reports directly to the Data Engineering Manager and involves collaboration with project managers, data scientists, and analysts. The role is based onsite in Toronto and is not remote eligible. Compensation: $65 per hour (CAD)
