Job description
About the role
Schrödinger is seeking a Senior Manager, External Reporting & Technical Accounting to join its mission to transform the discovery of therapeutics and materials. As a member of the Accounting team, you will evaluate and document complex accounting matters, lead external financial reporting activities, and partner with Finance leadership, external auditors, and cross-functional teams to support accurate and timely financial reporting.
This role translates complex accounting guidance into practical business solutions while helping develop strong financial infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with external auditors for quarterly and annual audits, ensuring timely support and responses.
- Lead or assist in monthly and quarterly close procedures, including preparation of SEC filings such as 10-Q, 10-K, and Proxy.
- Research and document complex accounting issues and non-routine transactions, and prepare position memos and supporting documentation for matters such as equity, debt, consolidation, and business combinations.
- Analyze new accounting pronouncements, including FASB pronouncements, SEC regulations, and tax laws, and assist in implementing them across the organization.
- Support internal control compliance by documenting accounting policies and procedures and supporting audit readiness.
- Manage the preparation of Audit Committee materials and required communications.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA designation strongly preferred.
- At least six years of relevant experience.
