Mercor is supporting a high-priority data collection initiative aimed at improving AI systems’ understanding of complex software interfaces and multi-step workflows. Current datasets lack the expert grounding and fidelity needed to reflect authentic professional software usage. This project fills that gap by collecting high-quality screen annotations and recordings from experienced domain experts working in real digital environments.
What You’ll Do
- Record screen sessions demonstrating specific Office Suite tasks with clear verbal narration
- Annotate screenshots by drawing precise bounding boxes around relevant UI elements in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Follow staging instructions to set up specific UI states before recording
- Use a custom capture tool to record workflows accurately and consistently
- Adhere closely to task guidelines to ensure data quality and usability
Who You Are
- Strong familiarity with professional Office Suite software: Word, PowerPoint, Excel
- Detail-oriented and able to follow precise instructions
- Comfortable working independently and meeting tight deadlines
- Have access to a physical Mac and able to create a fresh macOS user profile if required
Nice-to-Have
- Prior experience with data collection, annotation, or QA work
- Experience recording or documenting workflows
- Comfort working with new tools and staged UI environments
