Special Education Teacher (2026–27) – La Mesa, CA

Every Special Child is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher for the 2026–27 school year in La Mesa, California. This full-time, on-site position offers the opportunity to create supportive, inclusive learning experiences and help students with disabilities grow academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) with families and support staff.
• Build strong, effective relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and specialists.
• Use behavior management strategies to maintain a positive classroom environment.
• Assess student progress and adapt instruction to support individual goals.
• Coordinate with general education teachers and specialists to provide integrated student support.
• Participate in professional development and apply current special education practices.
• Maintain accurate student records and communicate progress and challenges to families.

Required and Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education required.
• Strong communication and behavior management skills.
• Experience working with children with disabilities preferred.
• Familiarity with IEP development and implementation.
• Knowledge of educational planning software and tools.
• One to three years of special education teaching experience preferred.
