Staff Accountant (Contract) in Urbandale, Iowa

In this on-site role, you will help maintain accurate financial records and manage billing and disbursement processes that support the company’s financial integrity and day-to-day operations. Pay is $24 per hour.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain financial records, billing statements, and disbursements.
• Research checks and other financial transactions, and investigate discrepancies.
• Use MS Excel to compile and analyze financial data and help ensure accuracy.
• Communicate professionally with clients and vendors about invoices and payment status.
• Assist with financial reports and statements for management review.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities as needed.
• Collaborate with accountants and colleagues to resolve financial record discrepancies.

Required and Preferred Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and experience with financial software.
• Skills in billing, check research, and disbursements.
• Strong written and verbal professional communication skills.
• Previous accounting experience is preferred; entry-level candidates may be considered.

Team and Reporting

You will report to the Accounting Manager and work with accountants and finance professionals in a collaborative team environment. The role also offers opportunities to work with cross-functional teams on projects supporting timely and accurate financial reporting.
