About the role
The Institute of People Management of Zimbabwe is seeking a Chief Executive Officer. Reporting to the IPMZ Council, the Chief Executive Officer will provide strategic leadership and guidance to the Secretariat in executing the strategy set by the Council, overseeing business operations and aligning them with the Institute’s mandate.
Responsibilities
- Develop the Institute’s long-term strategy, annual business plans and budgets, in consultation with the Council, for Council approval.
- Lead the Institute’s long-term expansion and growth in membership and revenues.
- Lead development and marketing of products, educational programmes, diplomas, certifications and CPDs, and review and align them with members’ and stakeholders’ current and future needs.
- Lead management and financial reporting, including income statements, statements of financial position and cashflow statements on monthly, quarterly, biannual and annual bases.
- Manage the Institute’s stakeholders, including members, client organisations, government, regulatory bodies and sponsors.
- Lead key Institute projects to support effective delivery of results and achievement of strategy.
- Implement local, regional and international partnerships.
- Develop and recommend policies and systems for Council approval.
- Manage enterprise risks and the Institute’s control environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, Social Sciences or a related field; a relevant Master’s degree is an advantage.
- Full professional membership with IPMZ and/or SHRM is an advantage.
- Strategic HR expertise supported by recognised HR qualifications such as IPMZ, CIPD, SHRM or equivalent.
- At least 10 years’ progressive corporate experience, including 5 years in senior executive HR or C-suite roles.
