VACANCY CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Institute of People Management of Zimbabwe (IPMZ)

Reporting to the IPMZ Council, the Chief Executive Officer will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and guidance to the Secretariat in the execution of the strategy set by the Council, overseeing business operations and alignment with the mandate of the Institute.

Responsibilities
• In consultation with the Council, develop the Institute’s long-term strategy, annual business plans and budgets for approval by the Council.
• Lead the expansion of the Institute and growth in terms of membership and revenues on a Long-term basis.
• Lead the development and marketing of new products, educational programmes, diplomas, certifications and CPDs as well as reviewing and aligning products to ensure that they address the current and future needs of the members and stakeholders.
• Lead the management and financial reporting including production of income statements, statements of financial position and cashflow statements on monthly, quarterly, biannual, and annual basis.
• Effectively manage the Institute’s stakeholders (members, client organisations, government, regulatory bodies, sponsors, etc).
• Lead key projects of the Institute to ensure effective delivery of results and achievement of strategy.
• Effectively implement local, regional and international partnerships.
• Develop and recommend policies and systems for Council approval.
• Manage the enterprise risks and control environment for the Institute.

Minimum qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, Social Sciences or related field; a relevant Master’s degree is an advantage.
• Full professional membership with IPMZ and/or SHRM is an advantage.
• Strategic HR expertise, supported by recognised HR qualifications such as IPMZ, CIPD, SHRM or equivalent.
• At least 10 years’ progressive corporate experience, including 5 years in senior executive HR or C-suite roles.
• Board reporting or board service experience, with strong governance, fiduciary and strategic oversight knowledge.
• Proven leadership in financial performance, revenue generation, teams and organisational sustainability.
• Experience engaging government, unions, academia and regional HR bodies to advance labour policy and the HR profession.
• Experience developing professional, educational and CPD programmes.
• Executive presence, strong communication and stakeholder influence skills.
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
