Cloud Architect

About the role

GeorgiaTEK Systems Inc. is hiring a Cloud Architect for a full-time role in Costa Rica.

Responsibilities

• Consult with customer application teams and provide guidance on cloud solutions and cloud governance.
• Review architectures, suggest improvements, create architecture artifacts, and document cloud deployment architecture and applications.
• Assist application teams with risk assessment and cloud service vetting.
• Help resolve complex issues, develop solutions for customer needs, conduct proofs of concept, and drive cost optimization.
• Design detailed implementation roadmaps for disaster recovery and infrastructure and platform services environments on Azure.
• Evaluate migration costs and select suitable environments and virtual machine sizes.
• Design Azure infrastructure solutions, including virtual networks, site-to-site VPN or ExpressRoute options, virtual machine migrations, Azure Site Recovery, and infrastructure management.
• Assess and document the current infrastructure landscape and design, develop, and implement future-state solutions aligned with customer business and technology roadmaps.
• Develop technology roadmaps for customer environments and articulate proposed solutions.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of JSON templates, Visual Studio, and PowerShell scripting.
• Knowledge of Linux, Chef, Puppet, and other open-source technologies, especially when running in Azure, is a plus.
• Knowledge of Azure Windows server administration and troubleshooting.
• Ability to understand and troubleshoot Azure platform-as-a-service resources, including Azure SQL, web apps, Application Gateway, CDN, and AD authentication.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
