Construction Engineer - Dover, Delaware Join our team at Company as a Construction Engineer primarily working in the field with minimal design tasks. This role involves managing RFIs, submittals, materials ordering, and reviewing specs and blueprints. We offer full health benefits, 401K with dollar-for-dollar matching up to 3%, plus 50 cents on the dollar up to 5%, starting immediately upon account opening. Profit sharing begins after one year or 1,000 service hours. Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Construction Engineer with 1-5 years of experience in heavy civil construction. The ideal candidate will have strong field operations and project management skills, focusing on heavy highway, roadway, bridge, or transportation projects. Key Responsibilities Track daily production activities and maintain cost history for excavation, blasting, drainage, erosion control, pavement base drain, stormwater detention basins, and stream relocations. Manage traffic control operations, including incident management, traffic impact studies, and blast event videography (preferred). Ensure compliance with Erosion and Sediment (E&S) control measures and coordinate with stabilization subcontractors. Conduct monthly site inspections with local conservation districts. Plan and supervise installation of storm drainage systems, coordinating multiple pipe crews. Prepare material and shop drawing submittals and maintain up-to-date project documentation. Supervise and inspect construction operations on roadway and bridge projects, ensuring safety and specification compliance. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field preferred. 1-5 years of experience in heavy civil construction, especially highway, bridge, or transportation projects. Strong understanding of construction field operations, project management, and safety regulations. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
