AM Consultant is seeking a detail-oriented Cost Accountant to join our dynamic finance team in Iowa City, Iowa . This full-time role plays a vital part in accurate financial analysis and reporting, directly impacting budgeting and taxation processes. Key Responsibilities Prepare and analyze detailed cost reports to guide management decisions. Assist with the annual budgeting process and monthly financial forecasting. Support financial audits by preparing documentation and analysis. Ensure compliance with accounting principles and tax regulations. Monitor project financial performance and identify cost-saving opportunities. Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure accurate cost allocation and policy adherence. Develop and maintain accounting procedures and standards for precise financial reporting. Required and Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis, budgeting, and taxation. Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks or SAP and advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Minimum 5+ years of experience in cost accounting. Professional certifications like CMA or CPA are a plus. This position reports directly to the Finance Manager and involves collaboration with operations and procurement teams to ensure financial oversight and compliance.
