As the Demand Planning Analyst, you will own and lead the demand planning process for aspecific channel and category, creating an accurate 24-month operational forecast throughoutthe product life cycle. You will lead cross-functional collaboration across Product, Marketing,Sales, and Finance to reach a consensus on operating and long-term strategic demand plans,considering all relevant statistical forecast techniques, business insights, assumptions, andsignals. You will play a key role in supporting the Demand Planning Manager and leading the continuous improvement roadmap for your team regarding all aspects of process, system, and people standards and capabilities.
Responsibilities are as follows and are not limited to:
Lead the Demand Planning process for channels and categories, resulting in the creation of the most accurate 24-month operational forecast throughout the product life cycle.Ensure proper collaboration with product, sales, marketing, supply planning, and finance teams to build a consensus demand plan.Lead team in reviewing, analyzing, and validating the quantification of new product introductions utilizing historical data for both internal and competitive launches, planned marketing support and critical account sales plans, and validating risks and opportunities before and after introduction.Support the Demand Planning Manager in facilitating the S&OP/Pre-Demand Review and Demand Review.Identify and reconcile gaps between the demand plan and the financial budget, driving for appropriate actions from the Supply Chain, Business, or FP&A communities.Review forecast accuracy analysis (FA% and Bias%) to promptly resolve or make recommendations for any issues, including root cause analysis and performance problem-solving.Lead or contribute to cross-functional company projects.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree is preferable (or equivalent years' work experience): Supply Chain, Retail sales and inventory management, Mathematics, Statistics, or other quantitative business discipline.Minimum 1-3 years of relevant experience, preferably within the consumer goods industry, with a minimum of 1-3 years of forecasting experience.Understand the importance of relationship development/managementAbility to deal with complex and ambiguous situationsExcellent analytical skillsStrong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a high attention to detail.Highly proficient with MS Office, advanced MS Excel required, experience with a forecast modeling tool, e.g. SAP IBP; SAP experience.Strong business acumen; comprehensive understanding of retail mathPossess soft skills and the ability to recruit, develop, and challenge direct reports
