Director, Industry Relations

About the role

The Director, Industry Relations provides strategic oversight and leadership for labor relations across ACCO Engineered Systems and its subsidiaries, encompassing over 120 union agreements nationwide. The role develops strategies, supports collective bargaining, leads a team, and advises regional leadership on labor relations issues. It also works across functions to align labor relations efforts with the company’s culture and core values.

Responsibilities

• Monitor industry trends, pending labor legislation, and shifting agreement language to help the company remain competitive and compliant.
• Advise company leaders on agreement interpretations and labor relations solutions.
• Collaborate with Human Resources, Payroll, Legal, Field Leadership, and Purchasing on union labor relations issues.
• Develop, lead, and mentor a team supporting union labor relations, including agreement review, documentation management, audits, grievance management, dues payments, and union event participation.
• Maintain professional relationships with unions, employer groups, and labor authorities, demonstrating commitment to the company’s core values, culture, and vision.
• Drive alignment with the company’s labor relations philosophy across its regions and divisions.
• Lead, negotiate, and oversee more than 120 union agreements, aligning them with company objectives and economic parameters.
