Environment Health and Safety Manager

FlexStaff is hiring an Environmental Health and Safety Manager for our client in the energy sector. This position is responsible for the EHS oversight to ensure the department complies with relevant laws and regulations regarding safety, health, and environmental protection. Your responsibilities will include effective implementation of projects, schedules, contracts, and compliance programs.
Key Responsibilities:Manage the EHS department Oversee site safety programEnsure compliance with applicable regulations, including USEPA, USCG, NYSDEC, OSHA, NYC DEP, and FDNY Undertake activities to verify and improve environmental and safety compliance Prepare regulatory filings, reports, and submittals Manage capital and O&M projects Interface directly with all federal, state, and local regulatory entities Perform emergency response activities as required, including but not limited to oil/chemical spill responses
Qualifications:A bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Occupational Health, or a related Engineering field is required.5 years of relevant environmental and safety experience.Experience in the following industries is highly desired: utilities, power generation, or heavy manufacturing.Certifications such as FDNY Certificates of Fitness are preferred and you must be capable of passing respirator fit tests.
