Based in Indiana, Pennsylvania, this fixed-term Health & Medical Officer role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to life-saving medical projects in collaboration with the Saudi Arabia and United States Government Medical Ministries. As a Health & Medical Officer, you will be part of a dedicated team expanding MSF’s response to the alarming malnutrition crisis across regions including South East Asia, the Middle East, the Arabian Peninsula, Sub-Saharan Africa, and Central Europe. This position is on-site in Indiana, Pennsylvania, with no remote work option. We’re looking for motivated medical professionals eager to advance their careers while making a global impact. Key Responsibilities Lead clinical assessments and provide expert medical care in specialized fields such as neurology, obstetrics, emergency medicine, pediatrics, and more, ensuring high-quality patient outcomes. Collaborate closely with government medical ministries and international partners to streamline project implementation and enhance healthcare delivery. Develop and maintain protocols for occupational health, radiation protection, and medico-legal compliance to promote a safe work environment. Supervise outpatient and inpatient therapeutic feeding centers, contributing to MSF’s expanded malnutrition treatment programs. Provide training and mentorship to junior medical staff and registered nurses, fostering professional development and clinical excellence. Monitor and evaluate medical project outcomes using data-driven approaches to ensure continuous improvement and adherence to MSF standards. Participate in emergency response planning and execution, adapting to evolving healthcare challenges in diverse international contexts. Promote effective communication among multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient care and project success. What We're Looking For Required: Medical degree with a minimum of 3 years of mid-level experience in clinical or specialized medical fields relevant to MSF’s operations. Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across cultures and disciplines. Expertise in at least one of the following specialties: neurology, obstetrics and gynecology, emergency medicine, pediatrics, surgery, psychiatry, anesthesiology, or related fields. Demonstrated ability to work in high-pressure, resource-limited environments. Commitment to humanitarian principles and ethical medical practice. Preferred: Experience working with international humanitarian organizations or government health ministries. Knowledge of tropical medicine, radiation protection, or medico-legal issues. Fluency in English; additional language skills are a plus. Leadership experience in clinical settings or project management.
