Manufacturing Process Design, Senior Leader
Santa Catarina, México
Descripción del empleo
About the role
Vertiv is seeking a Manager / Senior Leader of Manufacturing Process Design to lead the design of production ecosystems. This role connects research and development with the shop floor and manages the transition of Power and Thermal products from virtual design to physical production. It combines full-line balancing with Discrete Event Simulation (DES) to optimize manufacturing lines before production begins.
Responsibilities
- Lead the New Product Introduction (NPI) process in collaboration with research and development during early design stages. Integrate manufacturing constraints, plant capabilities, and automation requirements before design freeze.
- Use Yamazumi modeling to balance manufacturing processes to Takt time. Address bottlenecks and disconnected islands of automation to create synchronized flow, reduce process unevenness and waste, minimize work in progress, and maximize plant-wide throughput.
- Oversee the translation of Yamazumi work-content data and line-balancing profiles into Discrete Event Simulation models. Capture process data, including MTBF, MTTR, and step-level cycle times, to test production conditions virtually and validate throughput targets before physical implementation.
- Direct Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) reviews and assess manufacturability.
Datos clave
- Employer: Vertiv.
- Location: Santa Catarina, Mexico.
- The role connects research and development with the shop floor.
- Responsibilities include line balancing and Discrete Event Simulation.
