About the role
Donor Network of Arizona’s mission is to make the most of life through the gift of organ and tissue donation. The Medical Examiner & Emergency Professionals Liaison is the primary point of contact for Arizona Office of the Medical Examiners and external agencies, including law enforcement, emergency medical services (EMS), fire departments, and other public safety personnel.
Under the direction of the Director of Tissue Recovery Optimization, this role supports timely and accurate communication, operational coordination, and interagency collaboration while maximizing the number of organs and tissues recovered and transplanted. The position works closely with Organ Donor Optimization and Tissue Systems Optimization staff. It primarily works Monday-Friday, with on-call availability required on nights and weekends.
Responsibilities
- Provide prompt, effective service to Medical Examiners and external agencies.
- Enhance professional relationships and increase donation awareness and support through education.
- Ensure timely and accurate communication, facilitate operational coordination, and support interagency collaboration.
- Carry out responsibilities in a manner that reflects Donor Network of Arizona’s comprehensive, full-service approach to donation by participating and cooperating with other department leaders.
- Perform other duties as requested by the Director, Tissue Recovery Optimization.
