We're looking for a dedicated Orthopedic Technologist to join us on a contract basis, delivering exceptional orthopedic care in a dynamic clinical setting. As part of our healthcare team, you will work on-site in Rancho Mirage, engaging with a diverse patient population and collaborating closely with orthopedic physicians and physician assistants. Key Responsibilities Assist orthopedic physicians and PAs with patient care, including casting, splinting, and management of external fixators to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Demonstrate strict adherence to compliance policies and Code of Conduct, promptly addressing and reporting any concerns or violations. Operate efficiently within clinic protocols, maintaining a well-organized and fully stocked treatment area and exam rooms to support smooth clinical workflows. Prepare and assist during orthopedic procedures by anticipating physician needs and procuring necessary supplies ahead of time. Manage patient intake processes including history taking, rooming, documentation, and charting to facilitate seamless patient flow. Apply orthopedic devices such as casts, splints, and braces to patients of all ages, ensuring comfort and proper fit. Perform minor clinical tasks including suture and staple removal, dressing changes, and scheduling diagnostic tests to support comprehensive patient care. Maintain effective communication by promptly returning patient calls and managing phone messages within the same business day. What We're Looking For Required: Certification or formal training as an Orthopedic Technologist or equivalent clinical experience in orthopedic settings. Proven ability to perform casting, splinting, and orthopedic device application with precision and care. Strong knowledge of clinical compliance standards and patient confidentiality (HIPAA). Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to maintain treatment areas and accurate patient records. Preferred: Experience working in outpatient orthopedic clinics or hospitals. Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and digital charting. Ability to multitask and manage patient flow efficiently. Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning.
