Pharmacy Technician Contract Job in Houston, TX

Job Title: Pharmacy Technician Location: Houston, TX 77094 Job Type: 3 Months Contract Schedule: 3pm – 11:30pm Duties and Responsibilities Assist the pharmacist in medication preparation, repackaging, compounding, filling, and delivery for patients aged 0 to adult. Support procurement, record keeping, storage, and distribution of controlled substances. Ensure medication dose accuracy by entering patient diagnosis, weight, allergies, and body surface area into the computer system. Follow aseptic technique and infection control protocols when preparing sterile products; maintain annual recertification with a minimum 90% score on related exams. Verify medication accuracy as confirmed by the pharmacist and ensure zero dispensing errors. Demonstrate competence in batch, medication, and prescription order entry. Collaborate with Pharmacy Support Services to maintain adequate medication and supply stock, adhering to stock replacement and nonformulary procedures. Obtain pharmacist initial and final checks; assign dilution and expiration labels per department standards. Qualifications Registered Pharmacy Technician certification required. Experience with aseptic technique and sterile product preparation preferred. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow strict protocols. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Pay Rate: $35 per hour Location: This position is onsite in Houston, Texas and is not eligible for remote work.
