Plant Accountant – Manufacturing Location: Salt Lake City, Utah, United States Role Overview: The Plant Accountant plays a critical role in partnering with plant leadership and Corporate Finance to deliver accurate plant-level accounting, cost accounting support, and financial reporting within a manufacturing environment. Reporting directly to the Corporate CFO, this position supports operational performance through insightful financial analysis and robust internal controls. Key Responsibilities: Perform monthly plant close activities including journal entries, account reconciliations, and cost analysis Prepare and report plant Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) with detailed variance analysis Maintain and reconcile inventory accounts covering raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), finished goods, and variances Ensure accurate ERP transaction processing related to inventory, labor, production, and scrap Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost/volume/profit analysis to drive financial insights Coordinate physical inventory counts and cycle count programs to maintain inventory accuracy Assist with internal controls, audits, and capital expenditure tracking to ensure compliance Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 8+ years of experience in Manufacturing Cost Accounting 5+ years experience preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and managing timely plant close Proficient in manufacturing ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Epicor, or Infor/CSI Strong cost accounting and inventory management knowledge Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship Ability to work cross-functionally within a manufacturing environment Compensation: $75,000 per year Employment Type: Full-time, on-site position in Salt Lake City, UT.
