Role Description The Safety Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Kansas City, MO, responsible for overseeing workplace health and safety across manufacturing and office operations. This position develops, implements, and maintains safety policies, procedures, and programs in alignment with applicable regulations and company standards. Daily activities include conducting safety inspections and audits, coordinating incident investigations, tracking corrective actions, and maintaining safety documentation and reporting. The Safety Manager leads safety training sessions, promotes a culture of safety awareness, and collaborates with production, maintenance, and management teams to identify and mitigate risks. The role also involves monitoring regulatory changes, liaising with external agencies and auditors as needed, and continuously improving safety performance through data analysis and best practices.
Qualifications
Demonstrated expertise in occupational health and safety management, including hazard identification, risk assessment, and implementation of control measures.Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, industrial safety standards, and relevant environmental and regulatory compliance requirements.Experience developing and delivering safety training programs, toolbox talks, and employee coaching to diverse teams.Proficiency in incident investigation, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.Ability to analyze safety data, prepare reports and metrics, and use findings to drive continuous improvement initiatives.Effective communication, collaboration, and influencing skills to work with operations, leadership, and frontline team members.Solid organizational and documentation skills, with attention to detail in maintaining safety records, logs, and regulatory documentation.Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health, Engineering, or related field; relevant professional certifications (e.g., CSP, ASP, OSHA certifications) are a plus.Prior experience in manufacturing or industrial environments; experience in coatings, chemicals, or related industries is beneficial.Commitment to fostering an inclusive, respectful work environment and promoting a proactive safety culture.
