Senior DevOps Engineer

We’re looking for an active, proactive, and ownership-driven DevOps Engineer who is ready to go beyond day-to-day infrastructure tasks and make a real contribution to the growth and development of a healthcare product.You’ll work closely with engineering, security, and product teams to build and improve a reliable, secure, and scalable cloud environment, while proactively identifying opportunities to strengthen our infrastructure, processes, and delivery practices.Requirements5+ years of experience in a DevOps, Site Reliability, or Cloud Infrastructure role supporting production environmentsHands-on AWS experience across core services (EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, RDS, Lambda, ECS/EKS), including designing and operating microservice architecturesStrong proficiency with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, ideally managed through ScalrKnowledge of AWS security services and best practices, including AWS WAF, IAM, GuardDuty, and Secrets ManagerExperience managing DNS, CDN, and edge security with Cloudflare (WAF rules, caching, SSL/TLS, rate limiting)Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines in GitLab CI/CD, including runners, environments, and deployment strategiesSolid understanding of containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes or ECS)Familiarity with Git workflows, code review, and branching strategiesComfort working in Agile teams using Jira for ticketing, sprint planning, and incident trackingFamiliarity with AI-assisted engineering workflows, including the use of tools such as Claude for code generation, documentation, debugging, and knowledge discoveryAdvanced English proficiency, both written and spokenA collaborative approach to working with development, security, and product teamsOwnership mindset and the ability to prioritize in a fast-moving environmentWill be a PlusAWS certification (Solutions Architect Associate, DevOps Engineer Professional, or Security Specialty)Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Datadog, NewRelic, or GrafanaExperience integrating and managing third-party SaaS and PaaS services within a cloud environmentKnowledge of networking fundamentals, including load balancing, VPNs, and zero-trust access (e.g., Cloudflare Zero Trust)Exposure to compliance frameworks such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, or HIPAAPrevious experience in the healthcare or medical domainExperience with incident response, on-call rotations, and writing postmortemsFamiliarity with cost optimization practices in AWSResponsibilitiesDesign, deploy, and manage AWS cloud infrastructure from scratch using Infrastructure as Code, primarily TerraformMigrate an existing project to the new AWS environment while implementing and improving security best practices across the infrastructureContainerize applications and support their deployment across AWS environmentsBuild and maintain CI/CD pipelines from scratch in GitLab CI/CD to automate build, test, and deployment processesAutomate AWS infrastructure provisioning, application deployment, and operational workflowsMaintain and support existing services, including regular patching, updates, vulnerability remediation, security hardening, and antivirus managementMonitor infrastructure and application health, troubleshoot incidents, and ensure service reliabilityCollaborate with development and BI teams to improve deployment processes, environment consistency, and operational efficiencyApply AWS security best practices across infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, access management, security groups, and secrets handling
