Key Responsibilities Review bid packages, specifications, and drawings to fully understand project scope and requirements, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Prepare detailed quantity take-offs, cost budgets, and estimates from project inception through bid submission, maintaining competitive and profitable pricing. Identify critical project elements and potential value engineering opportunities to optimize costs and enhance bid competitiveness. Lead and delegate tasks to estimating team members to develop comprehensive pricing packages for large RFPs, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met. Maintain thorough documentation and data supporting estimates, including installation unit costs and labor productivity targets based on historical and site-specific data. Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain accurate pricing and verify compliance with project requirements. Conduct pre-bid and post-award reviews with project management teams to ensure scope clarity and smooth project transitions. What We're Looking For Required: Proven experience reading and interpreting complex design drawings and specifications related to OSP construction. Strong proficiency in industry-standard estimating arithmetic, formulas, and software tools. Demonstrated leadership skills with experience mentoring junior estimators or team members. Excellent communication and organizational skills to manage multiple projects and deadlines. Ability to travel as required to project sites and client meetings. Preferred: Background in telecommunications or utility construction estimating. Familiarity with value engineering techniques and cost optimization strategies. Experience using estimating software such as Trimble, Bluebeam, or similar platforms. Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
