Job description
We are seeking a reliable, vigilant Permanent Security Officer in Midrand, Gauteng, South Africa. In this on-site role, you will help protect people and property while supporting a safe, welcoming environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Patrol the premises regularly and monitor compliance with security and safety requirements.
- Monitor CCTV and alarm systems, responding promptly to alerts and incidents.
- Manage access control and verify that only authorized people enter the facility.
- Record daily activities and incidents in accurate, timely reports.
- Support emergency evacuations and participate in safety drills.
- Coordinate with law enforcement and emergency services when needed.
- Attend training and stay current with security procedures and protocols.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
- Grade 12 or equivalent.
- At least two years of experience in security or a related field.
- Experience with CCTV surveillance and alarm systems.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional approach to public interactions.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Preferred: Security-related certifications, such as PSIRA registration.
Team and Reporting
You will report to the Security Manager and work with security colleagues, HR, facilities management, and external security auditors. Reliability, teamwork, and consistent adherence to security standards are important in this role.
