KORE RPO is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Special Education Attorney to join our team in Santa Ana, California. This full-time role offers a unique opportunity to advocate for students with disabilities and ensure compliance with special education laws, improving educational outcomes for children in need. Key Responsibilities Provide expert legal advice and representation in special education matters, including Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 plans. Conduct thorough legal research to support cases related to special education law and regulatory compliance. Draft and review legal documents such as advocacy letters, settlement agreements, and judicial pleadings. Negotiate with school districts to resolve disputes and secure appropriate educational services for clients. Represent clients in administrative hearings, mediation sessions, and court proceedings as necessary. Collaborate with educators, therapists, and other professionals to understand student needs and advocate effectively. Stay current on legislative changes and advancements in special education law to maintain best advocacy practices. Required and Preferred Qualifications Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in education law, specifically special education. Strong familiarity with IDEA, ADA, and relevant California state laws. Proven negotiation and litigation skills. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Experience using legal research tools and document management software.
