We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Special Education Attorney to join our team in Santa Ana, California . This full-time position offers a unique opportunity to work in a supportive environment that prioritizes the educational rights of children in need. As a Special Education Attorney, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with special education laws and regulations, ultimately improving educational outcomes for our clients. Key Responsibilities Provide legal advice and representation for clients in special education matters, including Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 plans. Conduct legal research to support cases related to special education law and regulatory compliance. Draft and review legal documents, including letters of advocacy, settlement agreements, and judicial pleadings. Engage in negotiations with school districts to resolve disputes and secure appropriate educational services for clients. Represent clients in administrative hearings, mediation, and court proceedings as necessary. Collaborate with educators, therapists, and other professionals to understand the needs of children and advocate effectively on their behalf. Stay updated on legislative changes and advancements in special education law to ensure best practices in advocacy. What We're Looking For Required: Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school. A minimum of 3 years of experience in education law, specifically in special education. Familiarity with IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act), ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act), and relevant state laws. Strong negotiation and litigation skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience with legal research tools and document management software. Preferred: Experience working in a collaborative legal environment.
