About the role
Robert Half and Kevin Sweet are partnering with a rapidly growing, well-funded organization on a newly created Assistant Controller opportunity. The company plans to triple in size over the next several years, with financial backing from investors with significant resources to support that growth.
This role will help strengthen the accounting infrastructure, improve processes and controls, and build a scalable finance organization. It offers visibility, exposure to senior leadership, the opportunity to lead a team, and a path for continued career advancement.
Responsibilities
- Oversee accounting and financial reporting across multiple operating entities.
- Lead and coordinate the monthly and year-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate results.
- Review financial statements, account reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting schedules for completeness and accuracy.
- Ensure financial reporting and accounting practices align with GAAP and internal policies.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of approximately 5 accounting professionals.
- Analyze financial results and identify trends, variances, or inconsistencies for further investigation.
- Develop and monitor financial and operational reporting to provide leadership with business insights.
- Evaluate accounting processes and implement improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
- Strengthen internal controls and accounting procedures as the organization grows.
- Coordinate with external auditors.
