Job description
HealthAid Trust is hiring a full-time Caregiver for Elderly Patients in Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa. Help older adults maintain their comfort, dignity, safety, and quality of life through attentive personal care and companionship.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist clients with bathing, dressing, meal preparation, and other daily living activities.
- Provide companionship and emotional support.
- Administer medications and monitor health according to individual care plans.
- Update family members on clients’ status and care needs.
- Keep living areas clean, tidy, and safe.
- Document daily activities and report changes in clients’ conditions to healthcare professionals.
- Encourage activities that support mental and physical stimulation.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Compassion, patience, and respect when supporting older adults.
- Effective communication skills for working with clients and families.
- Previous caregiving or related healthcare experience is preferred but not required.
- First Aid or CPR certification is a plus.
Work Environment
Join a supportive care team guided by respect, dignity, and individualized attention. You will collaborate with nurses, therapists, and other healthcare professionals and report to the Care Manager.
