Salary: $150,000–$160,000

Creative Financial Staffing (CFS) is partnering with a growing $30M digital media organization to identify a hands-on Controller to lead its accounting and financial operations. This is a highly visible position for someone who enjoys owning the full accounting function while also supporting HR, benefits, and retirement plan administration.

Controller Responsibilities

Own the general accounting function, including month-end and year-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reportingManage budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and financial analysis to support business decisionsMaintain strong internal controls and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial reportingCoordinate year-end audit, tax, and other external accounting relationshipsOversee payroll, benefits administration, and the company’s retirement planManage day-to-day HR administration, including employee onboarding/offboarding, benefits, policies, and employee documentationPartner with leadership on financial planning, operational initiatives, and process improvementsServe as a hands-on Controller who can operate strategically while remaining involved in the details

Controller Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldMUST HAVE Netsuite experience Strong general accounting and financial reporting backgroundPrior experience in a Controller, Assistant Controller, Accounting Manager, or similar leadership capacityExperience with payroll, benefits, retirement plans, and/or HR administration strongly preferredComfortable working in a smaller, entrepreneurial organization where responsibilities extend beyond traditional accountingStrong communication skills and ability to partner effectively with senior leadershipDigital media, advertising, marketing, professional services, or similar industry experience is a plus
