Digital Communication Specialist

Tasks

• Develop communication plans aligned with program objectives.
• Create engaging digital and print content, newsletters, and social media campaigns.
• Design flyers, brochures, and communication materials using Canva.
• Manage and update website content.
• Develop community engagement initiatives through interviews, stories, photography, and videography.
• Track and report website, social media, and campaign performance metrics.
• Ensure digital content meets WCAG 2.1 AA and Section 508 accessibility standards.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals, community partners, and internal teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or related field; equivalent portfolio experience is also accepted.
• 2–5 years of experience in public health, nonprofit, or government communications Highly preferred.
• Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
• Proficiency in Canva and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Experience with social media, newsletters, website content, and analytics.
• Writing samples and graphic design portfolio required.
• Experience with WCAG 2.1 AA and Section 508 accessibility standards.
• Tennessee residents only.
• First day must be onsite for laptop deployment and orientation.

Schedule

• Hybrid schedule: Minimum 1 day per week onsite in Nashville.
• Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM CST (37.5 hours/week).
• December 14, 2026 – June 30, 2027
