Early Childhood Assistant/Aftercare Teacher

About the role

Breakwater is seeking an Early Childhood Assistant/Aftercare Teacher to care for and teach children 18 months – 5 years in a developmentally responsive program through play based, emergent curriculum rooted in a celebration of the natural world and in accordance with Breakwater’s mission and core values.

Tasks

• Care for and teach children 18 months – 5 years in a developmentally responsive program through play based, emergent curriculum rooted in a celebration of the natural world.

Requirements

• Able to actively supervise children by sight and sound at all times.

Pay

• Compensation starting at $19/hour.
• Maine State early childhood monthly stipend* to be paid in addition to the established wage. *Stipend amounts vary based on education and experience from $240-$540.
