Salary: $50.02 per hour (biweekly pay $4,001.64 to $4,401.80, negotiable based on experience and qualifications)
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Government Center, Viera.
Job Summary
Perform skilled professional engineering work involving coordination, planning, designing, drafting, reviewing, inspecting, and implementing assigned public works projects. This role requires expertise in civil engineering principles and practices related to public infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and plan engineering projects within the Public Works Department.
- Design and draft project plans and specifications.
- Review engineering documents and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Inspect construction projects to verify adherence to design and safety standards.
- Implement and manage assigned engineering projects effectively.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering related to the assignment area (e.g., Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering).
- Five (5) years of professional engineering experience related to the assignment area, including two (2) years post-registration experience; OR
- Bachelor's degree plus four (4) years experience as a Brevard County Engineer in a related section, including one (1) year post-registration experience.
- Preferred: Two (2) years experience in civil site engineering design and stormwater calculations in Florida.
- Must possess or obtain a valid Florida driver’s license prior to employment and maintain it during employment.
