Environment Health and Safety Manager

About the role

SAVI EHS is partnering with a respected commercial construction contractor to identify an experienced EHS Manager for a federal construction project in the Cambridge, Massachusetts area. This is a full-time, direct-hire opportunity for a construction safety professional to support the project and maintain a strong safety culture.

Responsibilities

• Lead site safety efforts and serve as the project's primary safety professional.
• Ensure compliance with EM 385-1-1, OSHA 29 CFR 1926, project-specific safety requirements, and client safety policies.
• Conduct site inspections, audits, and hazard assessments, and drive corrective actions.
• Develop and review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs), and Safe Task Analyses (STAs).
• Investigate incidents, near misses, and safety concerns, maintaining accurate documentation.
• Deliver safety orientations, toolbox talks, and ongoing training for project personnel.
• Maintain safety records, inspections, reports, and regulatory documentation.
• Partner with project leadership to identify and mitigate project risks.
• Promote a positive, team-oriented safety culture across the project site.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of construction safety management experience.
• Experience supporting federal construction projects is strongly preferred.
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification required.
• EM -Hour certification required.
• BCSP certification (CHST, CSP, STS-C, or equivalent) preferred.
• Competent Person training in Fall Protection, Confined Space, Excavation, or related disciplines is a plus.
• Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital safety management platforms.
• Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced construction environment.
