Job description

The Facilities Manager is responsible for the overall operation, maintenance, safety, and performance of a portfolio of commercial properties include medical office buildings (MOBs), outpatient healthcare facilities, and traditional office environments. This role provides leadership for building operations, engineering services, vendor management, capital improvements, and regulatory compliance while ensuring each property delivers a safe, efficient, and high-quality experience for tenants, patients, visitors, and staff. The Facilities Manager partners closely with property management, ownership, contractors, and tenants to preserve asset value, optimize building performance, and support operational excellence.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee the daily operation, maintenance, and repair of commercial office buildings, medical office buildings, and outpatient healthcare facilities.Manage preventive maintenance programs for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, life safety, building automation, and other critical building systems.Lead engineering staff and third-party vendors while ensuring quality service, regulatory compliance, and timely completion of work.Develop and manage operating budgets, capital improvement projects, and maintenance plans to maximize building performance and control costs.Conduct routine property inspections, respond to facility emergencies, and ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, and applicable building codes.Partner with property management and tenants to deliver exceptional customer service, resolve facility issues, and support tenant improvement projects.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.Five (5)+ years of facilities, engineering, or building operations experience within commercial real estate, medical office, healthcare, or institutional environments.Strong knowledge of HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety systems, and preventive maintenance practices.Experience managing vendors, maintenance teams, operating budgets, and capital improvement projects.Working knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, building codes, and facility compliance requirements; healthcare facility experience is preferred but not required.Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and customer service skills with proficiency in CMMS/work order systems and Microsoft Office.
