Job description
Join a utility-sector team as a Gas Meter Inspector in Houston, Texas. In this on-site contract role, you will help ensure accurate gas measurements and support the safety and satisfaction of residential and commercial customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect and test gas meters for accuracy and compliance with applicable industry standards and regulations.
- Record inspection findings and report on meter-reading accuracy.
- Identify potential meter issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Work with field technicians to investigate meter discrepancies and customer concerns.
- Maintain inspection records and prepare detailed reports for management.
- Follow current utility safety protocols and industry best practices.
- Attend training to develop gas metering knowledge and skills.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- One to three years of utility inspection or related experience preferred.
- Familiarity with utility-sector safety regulations preferred.
- Comfort using basic tools and technology related to gas metering.
- Relevant industry certifications are a plus.
Team and Work Environment
Collaborate with operations managers, field technicians, and safety and compliance teams. You will report to the Operations Supervisor. This position is based in Houston, Texas, and is not remote.
Pay and Employment
