Heavy Equipment Operator

Responsibilities:

● Backfilling; ditching; excavating; rough grading; grubbing; sub-grade excavating; trenching; material handling; slope grooming
● Operate heavy equipment in a safe manner;
● Secure special attachments to equipment;
● Perform minor repairs and preventative maintenance to equipment;
● Operate two-way radios and other communication equipment;
● Operate hydraulic pumping systems;
● Wear appropriate PPE at all times;
● Complete daily paperwork detailing job hours and job hazards;
● Comply with all company policies and procedures;
● Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment;
● Clean and lubricate equipment and refill equipment tanks;
● Maintain a clean site and organization of materials;
● Complete daily paperwork requirements;
● Operate with integrity and according to building practices.

Requirements:

● Class 5 with an acceptable driving record as well as having a means of transportation;
● 2 years of experience operating heavy equipment;
● Ability to use tools and equipment required to perform the work;
● Ability to follow safe working procedures;
● Excellent observation skills and a strong attention to detail;
● Ability to work both independently with little supervision, and as part of a team.
