Job description
About the role
Supporting Pathology, Cytology, and Immunohistochemistry (IHC).
Tasks
- Receiving surgical specimens
- Specimen accessioning using Cerner
- Collecting tissue blocks from Pathologists' Assistants
- Tissue processing and embedding
- Cutting tissue sections (Microtomy)
- Slide preparation and staining
- Supporting Pathology, Cytology, and IHC laboratory operations
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of Histotechnology experience
- ASCP HT/HLT certification – Required
- Completion of a formal Histology Technologist training program OR an Associate's degree in Chemical, Physical, or Biological Sciences
- Strong Pathology Laboratory experience
- Must reside outside the 50-mile local radius
Schedule
- Contract Dates: November 23, 2026 – February 20, 2027
- Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
- Evening Shift | Monday–Friday
- 4:00 PM – 12:30 AM
- 5×8 | 40 Hours/Week
- Candidates MUST work 2 MAJOR HOLIDAYS out of the following 3: Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Day
- PLUS 1 MINOR HOLIDAY: Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve
