IT Software Engineer IV – Java Backend

We are seeking an experienced IT Software Engineer IV specializing in Java Backend to join our dynamic team on a contract basis in Chicago, IL. Key Responsibilities Design and develop high-performance, reliable backend services using Java. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather project requirements and deliver effective software solutions. Develop, test, and deploy scalable web services and APIs to facilitate integrations. Identify and troubleshoot application issues, optimizing code for performance and scalability. Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices and development standards. Document technical specifications and maintain clear communication on project progress. Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to continually improve development processes. Required and preferred qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field. Proficiency in Java, with a strong understanding of backend frameworks. 5+ years of experience in software development, specifically in Java backend services. Experience with RESTful API development and integration. Familiarity with database technologies such as SQL and NoSQL. Knowledge of cloud platforms and deployment strategies is a plus.
