About the role
STAFFXPERT LLC is seeking a Jira Platform Engineer / DevOps Engineer on behalf of its client. The role serves as technical owner of an enterprise Jira SaaS environment within Atlassian Government Cloud (AGC). It supports the transition of planning tools from Azure DevOps and GitLab to Jira and secure integrations with GitLab, ServiceNow, and Okta.
Responsibilities
- Administer, configure, optimize, and maintain Jira SaaS / Atlassian Government Cloud.
- Design and manage custom workflows, issue types, screens, fields, permissions, security schemes, and automation rules.
- Build and maintain integrations with GitLab, ServiceNow, Okta, and other enterprise systems using REST APIs, webhooks, middleware, and scripting.
- Support enterprise migrations from Azure DevOps, GitLab, and hosted Jira environments to Jira SaaS.
- Automate data synchronization and enable end-to-end traceability across planning, development, release, and operations.
- Troubleshoot platform and integration issues while ensuring performance, scalability, security, and reliability.
- Partner with infrastructure, cybersecurity, and Agile teams to align platform configurations with organizational standards.
- Support Agile reporting and metrics, including velocity, burndown, and cycle time.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, platform standards, and best practices.
- Provide technical guidance to Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and development teams on effective Jira use.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
