Job Cost Accountant

Tasks

• Track and reconcile project costs, code and process invoices, maintain job cost records, assist with WIP and percentage-of-completion reporting, and support month-end close activities.
• Maintain and reconcile job cost records for active projects.
• Review, code, and process vendor and subcontractor invoices.
• Support WIP schedules, percentage-of-completion accounting, and project financial reporting.
• Investigate cost variances and resolve accounting discrepancies.
• Assist with month-end close, accruals, reconciliations, and audits.
• Help improve job costing processes, controls, and reporting accuracy.

Requirements

• 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in construction or another project-based industry.
• Strong knowledge of job costing, project accounting, accrual accounting, and financial reconciliations.
• Advanced Excel skills and the ability to work closely with Project Managers and Operations teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of accounting experience in construction, contracting, restoration, or project-based environments.
• Strong understanding of job costing, WIP reporting, and month-end close processes.
• Advanced Excel skills; QuickBooks or similar accounting software experience preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
