Lead Backend Developer

Tasks

• Translate high-level architectural direction and FDE requirements into detailed technical specifications and Jira user stories for offshore delivery.
• Serve as the primary escalation point, unblocking offshore developers and bridging timezone gaps through clear async documentation.
• Conduct code reviews for all offshore work, ensuring strict compliance with architectural standards, pipeline requirements, and contract-first API design (OpenAPI 3.0+).
• Spend roughly half your time writing clean, production-grade code, designing systems, and refactoring backend components.
• Own day-to-day technical decisions, implementation approaches, production support, and incident root-cause analysis.
• Mentor and enable offshore/onshore engineers, sharing technical context, best practices, and patterns.

Requirements

• Deep Python expertise (FastAPI, Flask, async patterns, Pydantic validation, dependency injection, and REST API design).
• Additional familiarity with Node.js is a plus.
• U.S. Citizens (GC / USC preferred; H-1B considered for exceptionally strong candidates)
