Job description
About the role
Regina Jobs is seeking a Medical Office Receptionist to create a welcoming atmosphere for visitors and patients at the clinic.
Responsibilities
- Greet visitors and patients, and check patients in and out in a timely, friendly manner.
- Manage a multiline telephone system professionally and politely while minimizing hold time.
- Answer patients’ questions and provide comfort.
- Schedule testing, procedures and appointments, and make confirmation calls before appointments.
- Work on electronic faxes.
- Obtain patient identification, including health cards, and insurance information, including E-health or private insurance when there is no health card.
- Verify insurance information and coordinate with relevant organizations for payment and referral requirements.
- Help maintain office inventory, place orders for office supplies and schedule service for office equipment repairs.
- Protect patients’ right to confidentiality.
