Job description
GLOBO is hiring an On-Site Interpreter for a contract role in Peoria, Illinois. Help people who speak different languages communicate clearly with clients and service providers in person. This on-site position supports inclusive, culturally responsive communication in the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide accurate, professional interpretation between clients and service providers in a range of settings.
- Facilitate in-person communication while maintaining confidentiality, neutrality, and professional boundaries.
- Prepare documents and materials for interpretation sessions as needed.
- Understand clients’ communication needs and support comprehension of interpreted information.
- Work with team members and supervisors to improve processes and share best practices.
- Maintain current knowledge of industry terminology and cultural nuances.
- Follow applicable interpreting ethics and professional standards.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proficiency in English and at least one additional language.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Previous interpretation or related experience preferred; 1–2 years in a similar role is a plus.
- Knowledge of relevant certifications, such as NIC or CCHI, is a plus.
- Familiarity with common software used in interpretation services.
