About the role

Delivering patient care and advancing eye health through clinical excellence.

Tasks

• Perform comprehensive eye examinations to identify vision disorders, ocular diseases, and conditions related to systemic health issues.
• Evaluate visual acuity, depth perception, color vision, eye coordination, and focusing abilities.
• Prescribe and manage eyeglasses, contact lenses, and therapeutic treatments.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on diagnostic findings and patient needs.
• Provide vision therapy, low-vision rehabilitation, and patient education.
• Administer diagnostic medications and prescribe approved treatments for eye diseases.
• Deliver preoperative and postoperative care to support optimal patient outcomes.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams while maintaining the highest standards of patient care, compliance, and stewardship of University resources.
• Contribute to a culture of innovation, compassion, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree required.
• Active State of Florida Optometrist License.
• Current BLS certification.
• Minimum of five years of relevant clinical experience.
