About the role

The Principal Engineer is the senior technical authority for the Salesforce platform. The role combines hands-on engineering, solution architecture, technical governance, code review, integration design, and delivery leadership across Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Field Service, Experience Cloud, Revenue Cloud-adjacent capabilities, and enterprise integrations. The role actively designs and builds complex solutions while guiding engineering teams and implementation partners.
Responsibilities
- Architecture and technical leadership: Define target-state Salesforce architecture, design standards, integration patterns, and platform guardrails.
- Lead solution design for enterprise CRM, field service, franchise operations, customer engagement, and shared services capabilities.
- Evaluate Salesforce products, AppExchange solutions, and implementation partner recommendations for fit, scalability, security, and total cost of ownership.
- Serve as the technical design authority for Salesforce platform decisions, trade-offs, and escalations.
- Hands-on engineering: Build and review Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flow, platform events, API integrations, and reusable platform components.
- Create prototypes and proofs of concept for complex capabilities before broader delivery.
- Lead code reviews, design reviews, performance tuning, and production troubleshooting for critical Salesforce capabilities.
- Establish engineering practices for branching, deployment, testing, security review, and release quality.
- Delivery and governance: Partner with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Enterprise Architecture, Security, Data, and Integration teams to translate business needs into scalable technical designs.
