About the role
St. Mary's General Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for its Cardiac Catheterization Lab. This full-time, days position provides specialized nursing care to adult and geriatric patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures. The RN works with cardiologists and the interdisciplinary care team to assess and monitor patients, support procedures, provide post-procedure care, and help ensure patient safety and positive clinical outcomes.
The role also supports procedural readiness, equipment and supply management, and quality improvement initiatives within the Cardiovascular Laboratory.
Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients undergoing cardiac catheterization and related cardiovascular procedures.
- Monitor and interpret physiologic and hemodynamic data before, during, and after procedures.
- Assess and document patient condition, and promptly report changes to physicians and care team members.
- Assist physicians during diagnostic and therapeutic cardiovascular procedures.
- Prepare procedure rooms, equipment, and supplies for operational readiness and efficient workflow.
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels and coordinate supplies for scheduled procedures.
- Educate patients and families about procedures, recovery expectations, and follow-up care.
- Collaborate with cardiologists, nurses, technologists, and other healthcare professionals.
