Registered Nurse Emergency Department

About the role

Central Maine Medical Center is hiring a Registered Nurse for its Emergency Department. This full-time role is in Emergency Services and has 12-hour shifts scheduled 3 x 12.

Care for diverse patient populations and manage high-acuity cases in a fast-paced Emergency Department, using critical thinking, autonomy, and teamwork alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care using assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice and direct and guide patient and family teaching and the activities of other nursing personnel.
• Remain directly responsible and accountable for the care given to patients in the Emergency Department.
• Communicate changes in a patient's clinical condition, diagnostic study results, and symptoms to the physician.
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in a patient's condition or response to treatment.
• Know EMTALA regulations and reporting requirements for child and adult abuse to appropriate agencies and the Hospital Social Worker.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.

Requirements

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS certificate.
