Job description
About the role
Sheppard Pratt’s Residential Rehabilitation Program (RRP) supports individuals with serious mental illness who have difficulty maintaining housing. The team helps clients obtain housing, employment, mental health services, and more. This direct care role supports mental health treatment in a safe, therapeutic environment that encourages independence and well-being.
Shift: Monday-Friday, 1pm-9pm.
Responsibilities
- Work one-on-one with clients to learn or regain skills for community and independent living and socialization.
- Support medication compliance, including safety, dosage, and cleanliness.
- Collaborate with the service team to develop and implement individual service plans.
- Provide transportation to clients’ medical appointments, offer advocacy during appointments, and document or follow through on instructions.
- Build rapport as part of clients’ trusted support system and encourage their progress in recovery.
Direct care staff receive thorough training and ongoing mentorship from senior staff members.
